Our first days in England

We arrived safe and sound on Wednesday morning at London Gatwick airport. Our friends, Mick and Margaret, met us and we drove approximately five hours north along the very hectic M23, 25, 1 and 62 motorways to their home in Bradford. After spending a few hours catching up on news with Mick and Margaret, we turned in early for the night.

Our first full day was spent with Mick and Margaret's family celebrating daughter, Michelle's (and her husband Neil, and daughters Maisie and Mia), graduation from Huddersfield with a Bachelor of Science degree.

We woke up the next morning to a cloudy rainy day so we  went shopping, then indulged in a plentiful helping of delicious comfort food at the nearby Heath Field Farm Carvary restaurant. We give it a four star for service and food.

Today Mick and Margaret took to us to quiet and quaint St. Annes and then the wild and wooly Blackpool. While the winds were cool and brisk we had a great time walking along the miles long Blackpool promenade (with it's colorful carnival atmosphere). We lunched at the world famous Harry Ramsden's Fish and Chips  restaurant chain with local roots. The fish and chips were delicious, a 4.5 from a couple of Canucks.

We have enjoyed each day absorbing English cuisine, sights and hospitality.
