Burgers Zoo at Arnhem

We took our longest car trip on Thursday, travelling to Arnhem in the southern part of the Netherlands. With our trusty GPS, we call her Freda, we arrived at the famous zoo with no trouble at all. This is a very nice zoo, with special care taken to having the birds, animals and fish is as natural habitat as possible. Lunch was awesome, see the photo below... Delmer thinks this is all for him.

We had some extra time, so we ventured into the centrum of the city, where we viewed the new bridge that replaced the "bridge too far".... only the old timers or history-buffs may know what we mean. We viewed the city from the tower in the Eusebuis church. The large bell in the picture had numerous bullet holes in it.

To our surprise, we left the city with no problems. Gosh.... we are acquiring a great sense of direction.  We stopped in Herenveen for supper on the way home.... that was a bit of a mistake... not all restaurants in Friesland are created equal!
