On the hunt for schnitzel in Berlin

We departed from Grou on Monday, August 12, making our way to Berlin by train, and arriving at the Berlin Bahnhof at about 6:30 p. m.. I had been considering what my blog topic would be all along the way, thinking that I really didn't have much of a story to tell. Those thoughts came to an abrupt end when I eagerly jumped onto the city's S-Bahn train, and the boys didn't. The doors slammed shut, I smiled and waived goodbye, as they stood on the platform. Not to worry, we managed to join up a few stations later.

Our hotel is situated in Charlottenburg in west Berlin, close to many high-end shops.  After checking in we went in search of some good German food and drink, finding both not far from the hotel. In a photo below, check out Delmer's schwienknuckle which was the size of a "roast pork for a family of five". Yes, he did manage to polish it all off.

Our first full day of touring included taking the hop-on-hop-off tour bus to all of the key tourist sights, and stopping at the Pergamon and Neues museums plus the Berliner Dom church. The last photo below shows an Egyptian queen. Ron was almost tossed out of the Neues Museum for taking this photo.
