World's oldest Planetarium in Franeker

The local barber here in Grou encouraged us to visit this town near Harlingen. We were not disappointed, finding Franeker well worth the drive. Delmer drove into this sizable town and unknowingly parked a block away from the famous little planetarium. You would have thought he was a homing pigeon! We also toured the centrum where we found a church with an art show inside. I found some very edgy eye glasses. They included a pair of frog green cat eyes (including the spots), a pair with a white face and darker blue arms (in a stria effect), plus a pair of the most suave dark purple horn-rimmed sun glasses. All were in the 300 to 400 Euro price range, a bit too much for my budget (I'd rather take a trip to Heidelberg).

We ended the afternoon in Harlingen with Ron visiting the museum in the centrum and Delmer and I enjoying some festive street music. We hit Delmer's favourite McDonalds in Leeuwarden on the way home. We promised him that we would stop one more time before we left Friesland. Our neighbour Robert came over for coffee in the evening. He brought us some delicious dessert. Ymmmmm!
